A Bit About Me
Kimberley Hansen is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT) with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT). Kimberley is a Counselling Therapist (CCTA) with The Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta (ACTA). Kimberley has a Master in Divinity in Counselling (Clinical Track) from Tyndale University College & Seminary in Toronto, Ontario.
Kimberley has over 17 years experience working in mental health working with a diverse population.
Kimberley provides individual, parental, family, couple counselling, as well as, professional consultation and supervision to practicum students completing their Masters in Social Work and/or Counselling.
Kimberley has extensive experience working with children and adolescents (ages 4-17), including working with individuals that have acute mental health and/or behavioural concerns.
Kimberley has experience working in hospice/palliative care. She has provided grief and trauma counselling to children, adolescents and their families who were living with life threatening illness or grieving a sudden or expected death.
Kimberley also specializes working with families that have complex childhood trauma (ACEs) and is trained in domestic violence assessment/screenings. She also has experience working with fathers who were charged with assault for abusive behaviours towards their co-parent and/or child[ren]. As a result, Kimberley has a vast knowledge in working with complex families, domestic violence, and childhood trauma.
