A Bit About Me

As a counselling practicum student, I am committed to providing a supportive and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients can explore their experiences and achieve meaningful change. Life often presents us with challenges that can feel overwhelming, but it’s in these moments that we have the opportunity to grow and discover our true strength. With the right support, I believe every individual can navigate through life’s difficulties and emerge with resilience and insight.

I am currently completing the final year of my Master of Education in Counselling Psychology degree. With 5 years of experience in the mental health and helping profession, I have worked in various settings, including crisis lines, at-risk youth mentorship, and an employee assistance program. I have experience and/or have completed training/coursework in supporting adults, parents, youth, and students through a wide range of concerns, such as grief and loss, trauma, cultural issues, sexuality, women’s sexual health, stress, life transitions, relationships, neurodivergence, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and suicidality/self-harm.

I would describe myself as a cisgender, neurodivergent individual of white and Indigenous heritage. I thrive with ADHD, and I hold status as a First Nation member of Treaty 6. For fun and self-care, I enjoy reading, continuous learning, spending time with my two cats, and connecting with family and friends. I also appreciate gaming, art, music, TV shows, and anime as part of my relaxation routine.

I look forward to meeting you and being a part of your healing journey.

Therapeutic Approach

My values of being ethically minded, authentic, inclusive, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed guide my approach to therapy. I approach therapy in a client-centred and collaborative way. This is your journey, and I am there to help guide and support you. I draw mainly from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) but may pull from other evidence-based modalities to customize support for a client’s needs such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Mindfulness and Somatic Based Approaches, and more. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where empathy, respect, and genuine interest in your perspective are central. We will embark on a journey of self-discovery and transformation, building on your strengths and inner resources to promote well-being and positive change.
